Witchbrook vs Stardew Valley: sourced differences

Last checked 2026-10-29. Sources are linked beside the claims they support.

The table

Witchbrook centers on magic college and a witch business; Stardew Valley centers on restoring a farm. Both describe relationships, crafting and co-op, but Witchbrook is unreleased, so this is not a hands-on quality comparison. Witchbrook's date and price are supported by its announcement and MonsterVine. Stardew's Steam product supplies its US price and desktop platforms; those commercial fields remain single-store observations.

The Stardew multiplayer wiki distinguishes PC, Switch, Switch 2 and other consoles; eight players should not be read as a universal limit. Witchbrook's crossplay evidence is separately limited to Xbox store labels, as explained on the co-op page. No winner, performance score or Witchbrook mod-support claim is asserted.

Questions on this page

Is Witchbrook a Stardew Valley sequel?

No. Different developers. Chucklefish with Robotality on one side, ConcernedApe on the other. A Fandom page cites PC Gamer listing Stardew among influences. That is not a quote that Witchbrook is “Stardew 2”.

Which has local co-op?

Stardew Valley has split-screen co-op. Witchbrook’s stores describe online co-op only, with one player on a single Nintendo system.
